PHILANTHROPY
WE CARE ABOUT GIVING BACK
We believe in supporting and helping the young, old, and chemically dependent by giving a hand up, not a hand out. We take a practical approach to our philanthropy, giving to those companies who strike at the systemic issues in our society and produce effective results.
Nonprofits We Support
Youth Progress
At Youth Progress we believe that young people in the juvenile justice and foster care systems are leaders, scholars, artists, athletes and entrepreneurs.
Together, we are a diverse and inclusive community of staff and foster parents who provide young people with safe and stable housing and opportunities to grow, learn, and succeed.
“We utilize the funds raised to invest back into the trauma-informed and culturally responsive programs we offer. At Youth Progress, we have a diverse staff and set of proctor-foster parents who support young people in the foster and/or juvenile justice systems. These young people have specific, individual needs and therefore need an individualized approach. Recently, we have invested in more trauma-informed training for our staff.
The unfortunate reality is the reimbursement rate does not cover the full costs of care for these young people. That means that our budget is never fully funded, and without the generous support of companies like yours, we would not be able to focus on the depth of individualized care for young people, leading to less-than-optimal outcomes. So when giving to Youth Progress, it's more than just giving to an agency that helps kids. It's an investment within the community those young people will then live in. ”

4D Recovery
4D is a Recovery Community Organization (RCO) for young people aged 18 to 35. Our mission is to provide a range of recovery support services for the needs of young people that are sensitive to race, culture, and gender identity. We know that substance use disorder does not discriminate — and neither should the support services, communities, and systems that help support an individual in finding a sustainable recovery.
David J. Guild Investment Properties has made a huge impact in the lives of youth and young adults, in or seeking recovery, in the greater Portland area with their generous support of our mission. Partners like them allow us to continue to provide on-demand and life-saving recovery support services 365 days a year at no cost to the individual. They support the expansion of our reach, including a third recovery center, a safe space for young adults to achieve recovery, opening in the coming months. They also back the launch of new programs, including an adolescent program, slated to begin providing services to youth between the ages of 14-17 later this year.— Tarra McCarthy, Development Manager at 4D
NW Instituto Latino
NWIL mission is to serve the Latino community through culturally specific peer support and educational programs. By contributing to the NW Instituto Latino's mission, we stand hand in hand with an organization that is dedicated to serving the Latino community through culturally tailored peer support and impactful educational initiatives. Their commitment aligns seamlessly with our own values, as we firmly believe in the importance of empowering and uplifting underserved communities. Through our support, we play a role in fostering an environment where cultural identity is celebrated and where individuals are provided with the tools they need to thrive. The NW Instituto Latino represents a beacon of positive change, and our contributions exemplify our commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
“NW Instituto Latino is the first and still the only substance use disorder recovery community organization in the state of Oregon. Without the support of DJ Guild and Associates we would not have been able to open our recovery drop-in center in SE Portland. When we were looking for a location to open our recovery drop-in center, landlords, once they found out what we intended to do, found a reason not to rent to us. But, DJ wasn't just open to it, he was supportive and excited for the chance to work with us.
Beyond that, DJ Guild and Associates was a sponsor of our annual conference. Our conference is and has been for over 20 years now the only culturally and linguistically specific conference for Latinx recovery support professionals in Oregon. With their help this year we were able to provide continuing education credits for over 100 Latinx substance use recovery support professionals and were able to bring in presenters from Latin America. DJ Guild and associates are more than just a great landlord. they are an ally to our community.”
